Duplex stainless steel (DSS) refers to ferrite and austenite accounted for about 50%, the general content of stainless steel below 30%, in the case of low C content, Cr content is 18% to 28%, Ni content is 3% to 10%, some steel also contains Mo, Cu, Nb, Ti, N and other alloying elements.
This 2507 super duplex stainless steel combines the characteristics of austenitic and ferritic stainless steel, compared with ferrite, has higher plasticity and toughness, no brittleness at room temperature, resistance to intergranular corrosion and welding performance is significantly improved, while retaining the 475℃ brittleness and high thermal conductivity of ferritic stainless steel, so that it has superplasticity.

Compared with austenitic stainless steel, has higher strength and resistance to intergranular corrosion, resistance to chloride stress corrosion, duplex 2507 stainless steel has excellent pitting resistance, but also nickel nickel stainless steel.
It has high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion rate and can be used in heat exchangers and water heaters, but long-term exposure to temperatures near or above 600°F can cause a loss of strength.
Finally, 2507 stainless steel is stronger than most nickel-based alloys and can be used for similar tasks with less material, saving costs and weight. It is also easier to process and weld than pure austenitic alloys.
